We know our client companies well, their culture and the progression opportunities they offer, as well as the simple practical matters such as travel logistics in the South East.
We help candidates to assess their current opportunities, to evaluate their strengths and to prepare for interview.
4 steps to prepare candidates for the right opportunity
KVR will work with you in a structured way, from finding the right opportunity to interview.
1. An objective and detailed look at your career history
A considered look at your track record creates a foundation for building an effective CV and acts as good interview preparation. This exercise is designed to help you recognise the value of your past experience to help you draw out relevant achievements that will support job applications.
Ask yourself; “How would I explain what I do to someone who knows nothing about me or what I do?”
2. Promoting your value in your CV
It is no longer enough to know that you can do the job; you have to understand your value to enable you to promote your skills successfully to employers. Your CV needs to make an immediate impact on the reader and make them want to call you or invite you in for an interview to discuss your experience further.
KVR will help you build a CV so that it: (i) passes the 3 seconds scan test a CV and reject, which determines whether a CV is rejected based on presentation alone (ii) passes the 6 seconds 'read' test based on the effectiveness of the first few lines (iii) has the best chance of standing out among 50-100 applications received for a typical professional position
3. The interview and creating dialogue
By the interview stage, most of the competition will have been eliminated - about 15% of applicants reach the interview stage.
KVR provides guidance that follows on from Career History and CV Writing to increase your confidence and improve interview performance.
An interview is an opportunity to promote your personal skills and experience while demonstrating how they meet the job criteria and will benefit the company. an interview is also an opportunity to discover if the role/team/company is something you want to be part of.
4. Let's do the Q&A
As we know our clients very well, and by this stage in proceedings we will understand you too, it's a good time to 'get real' and practice some specific questions and answers.
Candidates have told us that they find this exercise really valuable in terms of being prepared for interview and in terms of staying focused on what is important to the role, as well as to them as the candidate. The KVR Q&A guide is extensive; we will help to select the right categories of preparation to support your application.
